Rethinking Food in the Platform Society

Food is no longer just a matter of choice, culture or personal habit. Now, it is shaped, filtered and reorganised by digital platforms that mediate how we buy, evaluate and dispose of food. This website explores how these systems influence what becomes visible — and what remains hidden — from farm to home to waste. Through critical reflections, data visualisations and speculative narratives, the project examines the relationship between food systems and the infrastructures of digital platforms, as described by van Dijck (2018).
